POEM
Equus Recyclus
From the horse's ass,
Much manure does pass.
The pasture's
seed becomes an organic bead,
Made from the horse's dirty deed.
There must
be more uses,
For what the horse produces.
If only
I could recycle in haste,
All of the farm's various waste.
Our equine partners do test us,
They think it's fun to vex us.
Imposing my will on my annoying steed,
Drives me to my studio to bead.
Beads don't
buck, stamp, snort or poop,
They are just a relaxing group.
Creating
horsy themed art,
Combines the things dear to my heart.
The herd
of turd is endless,
So here it is in a necklace!

MATERIALS:
*Everything used in this piece is either recycled from or found
on our farm. (Except the plastic pony beads and the glass beads,
those are found in my bead room)
* The 18ga Plastic Coated Garden Wire Caged Beads are recycled
hay, grain and water, uniquely formed by our horses' colons, no
two are exactly alike. In other words, their turds!
* The Steel Horse Shoe was worn to perfection by my horse Beanz.
He's working on four more beauties for me right now just in case
we create a fashion trend!
* The 16ga Aluminum Electric Fence Wire is a must have for my
husband's horse Balladeer. If he could, he would gnaw the fences
to splinters, the horse, not my husband.
* The Orange Plastic Hay Baling Twine leftover from horsey dinners
is only slightly less abundant than the beads they hay evolves
into.
* No farm can exist without Nails and Wire, you name it, and
it needs nailing, tying or wiring. Horses are experts at wearing
out and breaking things.
* The Clasp is an Electric Fence Wire Insulator. It attaches
the wire to the fence boards, which prevents horses from chewing
because they do not enjoy getting their noses toasted.
Beanz and Balladeer would like to thank you for the opportunity
to express themselves artistically, not easy to do if you're livestock!
They also want everyone to know, their horsemade beads are available
in quantity! They make a fresh batch everyday.

Some
thoughts about this piece for those of you who may be grossed
out. Horse manure is strictly made of hay, grass, grain
and water. Unlike human or dog waste, horse manure is "clean."
No meat, no meat based byproducts, therefore it does not
contain pathogens harmful to humans through casual contact.
Dry, as it is in my necklace, it is veritually inert.
Please
do not eat any, and you'll be just fine!
