POEM

The Good, the Bad, and the UGLY

Found along the seashore
Amidst the ocean's roar
Were all these items lying in the sand
Only to fall into my searching hands

On one side we have Mother Nature's best
And on the other side man made trash in a nest
Of tangled nylon twine

Oh how my heart did whine
When I found the worst yet
A lid from a UN Box 0303
Marked with smokeless Grenades
All for free

It did lie
Amongst the kelp,
sand crabs and sea urchin tests
Just as comfortable as all the rest

Oh what a world we must measure
When man's weapons become one
Of Nature's treasures!!!

MATERIALS:

Toggle Clasp: Western Grebe Skull on Bamboo caught in plastic ring holder for a six pack of soda cans.

Natural Side: Feather Boa Kelp, Giant Kelp, Rockweed, Bird feathers form various species of gulls, terns, crow, various shell species including abalone, whelk, giant keyhole limpet, small limpet, clam, California mussel, lobster leg, driftwood, beach pebbles, pinecone, various seed species including acorn, peach pit, peanut, etc., and plant parts to be identified, wire and twine.

Unnatural side: Un0303 smoke....grenade box top (looked up on internet and found to be authentic), giant kelp tangled in orange plastic mesh, big light bulb maybe from boat or boat trailer, plastic American flag bit, Visine bottle, plastic knife fork, spoon, ring pop holder, various plastic toys including Indians, fake meatball sandwich balls, bubble wand, balloons, bat and flower hair clips, pirate coins, pumps, comb, Chap Stitck, large kitchen utensil of some kind, candy wrappers, many bottle tops, corona beer top, lighter, ping pong ball, Styrofoam in many forms, plastic bottle, stick up, tampon inserter, picture of rubber too disgusting to touch, gun shell case, surf wax, petroleum tar, cork, fishing lures and bobber, industrial webbing, mesh, plastic containers and boxes, party popper, nylon rope, Easter egg shell,e ar plug, pens, film canister, & plastic scraper, and miscellaneous plastic parts.
