Greek Key Pattern Chain Necklaces
(Detailed Images, Full
Image)
In my jewelry design classes, I have every student attempt to create a Greek Key Pattern using either a bead weaving technique or a wire wrapping technique.
Vintage jewelry from the 1800's and early 1900's was often strung on or off-from some type of chain. This was because there really were no durable stringing materials back then. Durable stringing materials didn't appear until the 1960s.
One style of chain frequently used was a Greek Key Pattern.
The simpler necklace pictured here is the project for this class.
